| Serving the Alaska Road System - Denali Lutheran Church |

![]()
Alaska is a vast State. People are spread throughout the state, but a large population of people is strung out along Alaska's less than extensive road system. Alaska Mission for Christ is working very hard to make sure there is a viable witness for Jesus and hopefully a ministry of Word and Sacrament in each of these communities. Since communities are small and widespread, this often takes creativity. Most of the work on the Road System is done under the auspices of Denali Lutheran Church. Denali is a single Lutheran Congregation that is spread throughout Alaska serving the needs of communities that are too small for a traditional Lutheran congregation. On any given Sunday Denali will have worshippers in the communities of Bethel (which is located off the road-system), Chitina, Delta Junction, Dot Lake, Meier's Lake, Tanacross, and Hoonah, Alaska. Two Denali fellowship groups, Funny River Community Lutheran Church, Funny River and Mt. Drum Lutheran Church, Copper Center have recently split off of Denali to form their own independent LCMS congregations. Denali is continuing to expand and is always looking for new places to bring the Gospel.
