Gerry and Ruth Zellar have been residents of Alaska since 1972 and worked with Alaska Mission for Christ since it’s beginning . They spent 30 years living and ministering to people in Anderson, Alaska and the surrounding area. They both took the LAP courses and are certified Lay Ministers through Concordia University in Portland, Gerry for Word and Sacrament ministry and Ruth for children’s ministries. Since 1995 Ruth had been working with AMC volunteers that came to communities north of the Alaska Range. In 2005 they moved to the Wasilla area and in 2006 Ruth took over Sandi Schauer’s job as Servant Event Coordinator. Ruth does all the coordinating for the servant events on the Alaska Road System and also in Southeast Alaska.
