Alaska Mission for Christ has 3 different Servant Events to share the love of Jesus with both Children and Adults. If is wasn’t for people like you this would not be possible. Alaska is the largest state in the union with an area of 571,951 square miles and a population of 663,661 people. About 1/3 of the population lives in the Anchorage area. So like Uncle Sam says: We need you! Below is described our 3 different Servant Events.

Vacation Bible School:

This is done like a typical VBS that would be done in your home church with a few modifications to fit Alaska. Many children have not either heard of Jesus or don’t know much about him. We do require that each VBS has the story of the death and resurrection of Jesus. It is encouraged that the crafts that you do are ones that the children can take home with them and they will last for a while and not just get thrown away. We do have a 3 year series of a VBS curriculum if you would like to use it. If not you can use any commercial curriculum from places like , CPH, Augsburg or the Group.

Sports Camps:

Sports camps have become very popular in many of the small villages and communities. Most of them want to have basketball camps because that is the most popular sport for youth in Alaska. We do have basketballs with our name and logo on them for you to buy. They cost about $8.00 per ball and need to be ordered about 3 months in advance.

Hammer and Nail Project:

Alaska Mission for Christ also recruits people to do hammer and nail project throughout the state. Most of the time it is repairing something on one of our mission churches, helping a widow in our congregation do some repairs in her home, building an addition on a mission church and a variety of projects.
