As I looked out my window yesterday it looked like summer was a long way off. We had 4 inches of snow on May 18th. They say that we have had 230 days of snow this
winter. Maybe we will have 230 days of summer now...then maybe not!
I am excited that Glenn and Susan O'briant are coming back to help me with airport pickups and orientation. They were a true blessing last summer for the 3 weeks that they were here...this summer they will be here for 8 weeks. That will provide me with time to go to both the LWML convention and the National Youth Gathering and have an exhibit for Alaska Mission for Christ. Glenn and Susan have shared the love of Jesus with thousands of children during the many years that they have been coming to Alaska.
Please pray that many more children will be reached this summer with the volunteers that will be coming.
It is Spring!

I don't know about your house but at my house the apple trees are still in a foot of snow and temperature about 0 in the morning and 25 degrees by noon. This means that
the sun is getting closer to Alaska to warm things up during the day.
I have been talking to lots of volunteers from the midwest saying they are ready for spring. I know how you feel because that is what it is like every year here in Alaska.
As we anxiously await for the snow to be gone and the temps to get warmer we remember what it must have been like when Jesus knew what was awaitng for him that Good Friday. Then we rejoice on Easter morning at the resurrection of our Lord.
I am waiting for summer when I can see all my volunteer friends as they return to Alaska to share the love of Jesus with people here in Alaska. If you feel the calling to Alaska please give me a call or e-mail.
May you have a great celebration of our risen Lord!
How was your Valentine's Day?

How did you spend Valentine's Day? We don't usually do a whole lot of celebrating in our house. I got Gerry a valentine's card and an oversized chocolate kiss. He got me a card and a dozen red roses. This summer it will be 45 years since we got married and we finally figured out how to make roses last more than a day or two before their heads droop and they die. The cards that we got each other have the same picture on the front and mine says "To My Wife" and the one I gave Gerry says "My Husband". I guess that we do know each other pretty well after all. After 5 days they are still red and beautiful.
Red roses always reminds me of love. Not only the love that my husband has for me, and me for him, but also the love that God has for me.

It reminds me of the song by Michael W. Smith
Above All
Above all powers, Above all kings, Above all nature, And all created things, Above all wisdom, And all the ways of man, You were here, Before the world began
Verse 2
Above all kingdoms, Above all thrones, Above all wonders, The world has ever known, Above all wealth, And treasures of the earth, There's no way to measure, What You're worth
CHORUS
Crucified,Laid behind a stone, You lived to die, Rejected and alone, Like a rose, Trampled on the ground, You took the fal, And thought of me, Above all
I hope that your valentines day was filled with love for one another and for God.
God has His plan for you!

I have been planning for several months for another Friend-Raising trip to the lower 48 states. On these trip I do presentations in many different churches around the US. This trip was to include Naples, Ft Lauderdale, Port St. Lucie and Lake Worth, Florida. There was a Mission Festival in Port St. Lucie. Then on to Colunbia, MO, St. Louis, MO for ALMA Conference and then to Cedar Rapids, IA and final presentation at Royal, IA. It is always a joy to meet new people and re-new friends in many different places.
God had different plans for me. He decided to take my Mother-In-Law home to Him. I was able to call my contact person in Florida to let her know that I was unable to come because of a funeral of my Mother-In-Law. She understood and told me that she would take care of everything. My husband Gerry flew out 2 days early when his mom took a turn and was unable to make it before she passed away. I got to Lakefield, MN on Thursday and the funeral was on Saturday. It was a joy to be with all of Gerry's family and extended family to celebrate the life of his mom. Gerry even gave the message at his mom's funeral and did a wonderful job.
So God had a different plan for me on this trip but am thankful that my Mother-In-Law is with her Lord.
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jermiah 29:11
Happy Birthday, Jesus

I would like to wish each and everyone of you a very Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year. One of the most memorable Christmas Eve's for me is one, 10 years ago, when our 4th grandchild was born. She was born on Dec. 23 and we had the privlidge of being there 2 hours after her birth. On Christmas Eve we ALL went to the Christmas Program that the two older children were in, it was their first one. As we watched the Christmas Story unfold as we held that newborn baby and really understood what a blessing it was that God sent
his son to be born as a baby for one purpose. To save us from our sins. One of my favorite Christmas Songs is, "Mary Did You Know":
Mary, did you know
That your baby boy will one day walk on water?
Mary Did you know
That your baby boy will save our sons and daughters?
Did you know
That your baby boy has come to make you new?
This child that you’ve delivered
Will soon deliver you
Mary, did you know
That your baby boy will give sight to a blind man?
Mary Did you know
That your baby boy will calm a storm with his hand?
Did you know
That your baby boy has walked where angels trod?
And when you kiss your little baby
You’ve kissed the face of God
The blind will see
The deaf will hear
And the dead will live again
The lame will leap
The dumb will speak
The praises of the Lamb
Mary, did you know
That your baby boy is Lord of all creation?
Mary Did you know
That your baby boy will one day rules the nations?
Did you know
That your baby boy is heavens perfect lamb?
This sleeping child you’re holding
Is the GREAT I AM
This tells it all: Merry Christmas
